I recently purchased an Omen laptop. For much of the next year I will be working in Malaysia and Thailand. I will be using the Omen as my workstation. Where do I purchase an adapter plug set to use with my 330w  power supply in different countries?

Hi @Erik_Red,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Since you’ll be working in Malaysia and Thailand with your HP OMEN laptop and 330W power supply, here’s how to ensure you stay powered up safely and reliably.

1. Plug Type and Voltage in Malaysia & Thailand

  • Voltage: 220V (compatible with your HP 330W adapter)
  • Plug Types:
    • Malaysia: Type G (UK-style, 3 rectangular pins)
    • Thailand: Type A, B, C, and O (mix of flat and round pins)

Your HP OMEN power brick supports 100–240V, so you don’t need a voltage converter, just a plug adapter. (For safety, you can use a Surge protector.)

2. Recommended Adapter Options

🔹 Universal Travel Adapter with Surge Protection

  • Works in both Malaysia and Thailand
  • Supports high-wattage devices like your 330W charger
  • Look for models with:
    • Type G, A, B, C compatibility
    • Grounding support
    • Built-in surge protection

You can find these on online websites or stores nearby.

3. Where to Buy Locally

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you so much for your informative response. Unfortunately, I think I wasn’t clear about my question.

I own an Apple laptop as well and you can (and I have) purchase a plug adapter set that changes the plug on your power supply.  As my new HP laptop power supply has a plug that can be switched as well, I was hoping I could purchase the cord and plug type G and B separately for use with my 330w power supply like a can with my other laptop power supply.

I apologize for not being terribly clear. Essentially, I want to just swap out plugs on my power supply. IMG_6970.jpegIMG_6968.jpeg

Hi @Erik_Red,

Thank you for sharing the images and providing clear details. Regarding the power cord, it may not be possible to make changes. However, let me check further and gather all the information I can. I’ll get back to you within a couple of hours with an update.
