Hi @BoNuong,
Thank you for your response,
If the above steps did not resolve the issue and your phone is still charging instead of focusing on file transfer, you can try the following advanced troubleshooting steps.
On Your Laptop
Check Advanced USB Settings in BIOS/UEFI:
- Revisit your BIOS/UEFI settings and search for broader USB-related settings:
- Look for terms like "USB Power Delivery," "USB Always On," or "USB Wake Support."
- If any setting seems related to USB charging or power management, try disabling it.
- Save changes and reboot your laptop.
Update USB Drivers:
- Ensure that your laptop has the latest USB drivers installed:
- Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu).
- Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Right-click on each USB device and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Disable Power Management for USB Ports:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, double-click on each USB Root Hub.
- In the Power Management tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Click OK and repeat for all USB Root Hubs.
On Your Phone
Enable Developer Options:
- Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information.
- Tap Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- In Developer Options, locate Default USB Configuration and set it to File Transfer (MTP).
Use USB Debugging Mode:
- In Developer Options, enable USB Debugging.
- This mode sometimes overrides default power-related behaviors and prioritizes data transfer.

Hi @BoNuong,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn off PowerShare settings and focus solely on transferring files when connecting your phone to your HP Pavilion 14 laptop, you can manage the USB settings on both your phone and laptop. Here's how.
On Your Laptop:
Disable USB PowerShare:
- HP laptops with PowerShare can sometimes provide power to USB devices even when the laptop is off. To turn this off:
- Enter the BIOS/UEFI setup. Restart your laptop and press the key to access the BIOS (usually Esc, F2, or F10) during boot.
- Look for options like USB PowerShare, USB Charging, or similar.
- Disable this feature.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS.
Ensure File Transfer Mode is Enabled:
- Windows doesn't require specific PowerShare settings for file transfer. Ensure that your phone is set to "File Transfer" when connected.
On Your Phone:
Set USB Connection to File Transfer:
- When you connect your phone to the laptop via USB, a notification will appear on your phone.
- Tap the notification and select File Transfer (MTP) or similar, depending on your phone's operating system.
Default USB Preferences (Optional):
- On Android:
- Go to Settings > Connected Devices > USB Preferences.
- Set the default USB mode to File Transfer.
- On iPhone:
- No specific settings are needed; use iTunes or Finder (on macOS) for file transfers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Check USB Cable and Ports:
- Ensure you're using a high-quality USB cable that supports data transfer (not just charging).
- Try a different USB port on your laptop.
On Both Devices
Ensure Compatible USB Protocols:
- Confirm that your laptop supports the USB protocol used by your phone (e.g., USB 3.0 or USB-C).
- If possible, use a direct connection without additional hubs or adapters.
Use Third-Party Tools for File Transfer:
- If the problem persists, consider using third-party apps like Samsung Smart Switch, AirDroid, or Google Drive to transfer files wirelessly.
Test on Another Device:
- Connect your Samsung A135F to a different computer and see if the issue persists.
- Connect another Android device to your laptop to rule out hardware compatibility issues.
Note:
If none of the above resolves the issue:
- Check for any firmware updates for your Samsung A135F via Settings > Software Update.
- Test with an alternate cable or USB adapter to confirm no hardware limitations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
