HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This may be a very basic question but im a bit cautious

Is it possible to charge/run  my Laptop through the USB port using a car 12 v socket and adapter?

I am going on holiday with my motor home and won't have a mains hook up?

I don't want to try it and blow up one of my USB ports or do any damage as i need them all.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

This is a basic answer: the USB ports for 12V socket is only around 5V with 2A or 1A which is suitable for phones or tablets, not for laptops.

I've been using the following adapter from the day I bought my first laptop and I can use it for my cameras too.

(Note: I only bought the one with 200W).

Regards.
