Hi:
The service manual states 2 x 4 GB of PC2-6400 memory for the Intel models (chapter 1, page 2).

I don't know if you have taken a look at the cost of a DDR2 4 GB memory module lately, but they aren't cheap.
I am also skeptical of what the manual posted as to the max memory.
I recommend you get a 2nd opinion, and run the free Crucial Memory scan tool and see what it reports, just to get confirmation of what the manual indicates.

You're very welcome.
DDR2 4 GB memory modules are rare because very few notebooks used them.
DDR2 2 GB memory modules are a dime a dozen.
So, the memory manufacturers did not/do not make many of them, which is why the price is sky-high.
They were never cheap--even when DDR2 was the going memory speed.
I have a HP 6910p and 6930p business notebook that can take those, and think I paid around $65 bucks for a pair of them for each notebook years ago.
It is the same problem with desktop PC's using DDR2 4 GB memory modules. The prices are also sky-high.

Found them on Newegg much cheaper and the same brand that is already in it. I am still looking to see if I can get them for even less but what Newegg is asking for them is not nearly the insane price Crucial had them listed for (more then double).

I checked my NewEgg order history and I bought two of these back in July of 2011.

Not a bad price on eBay if you trust used but tested and working...but only one piece for sale.
Amazon has them too...but not for $33 bucks.
