Hi I have an old laptop CQ61 which I STILL use to this day and it runs ok. I update regularly and keep on top of drivers etc and I dont bog it down with tons of software. However I noticed that the BIOS was running on a very old version F.03 and I wondered if there was any merit in updating this...or if thats even possible.

If things are working fine, I don't see a need to update the BIOS.
I definitely don't recommend it unless you are still running W7 on the PC because that is the only operating system that the BIOS update was written to be run on.
Running the update on an unsupported operating system could result in wrecking the notebook.
