Hello !
I have an old laptop Presario CQ71-305sf. This computer is very slow. I want to upgrade it but I don't know which CPU and RAM match with the motherboard and the bios. I am looking for better CPU and RAM I can use to upgrade this computer.
You can find below pictures of the actual hardware installed in this laptop.
Thanks in advance !

Hi, @Huffer
If the notebook has an Intel GL40 chipset, it can only support processors with a max FSB speed of 800 MHz.
The P8700 has a FSB speed of 1066 MHz and won't work with the GL40 chipset.
The best processor that would be supported in the GL40 chipset according to the manual, would be the Intel T6600.

Its slow because it is obsolete. The problem is the motherboard is an Intel GL40 chipset which is only for the budget-class Celeron and Pentium processors. You can likely install a Core2 Duo CPU up to a P8700 but it will not work quite right. Uses DDR2 memory max 4 gb. What I am trying to tell you is there are no upgrades you can add which will bring this computer into the 2020s.

@Paul_Tikkanen you are right of course. I was not really advocating for the Core 2 Duo on that motherboard in any event as I believe Speedstep is not supported so CPU will run all out and use battery power very quickly and run hot.
