Did you try removing the 16gb stick and seeing if it boots properly? If it does then either you bought an incompatible stick, or it's defective. If it is the ram, there's not going to be any way to "make it work". If it still won't boot after removing the stick, then there is another problem, either from when you opened your laptop or just coincidental. Which model # Pavilion do you have, what is the original memory that it came with and what are the specs on the memory that you purchased (DDR3, DDR4, speed, CL etc.)?

To echo what PeteC22 said, HP consumer laptops don't like any kind of performance memory. You should purchase a module of the same speed and timings of the original. I made that mistake a few months ago, purchased 32GB of GSkil Ripjaw, the timings were too tight to work correctly on my new HP laptop.
Most everyone reports good results with vanilla Crucial, Samsung or SK Hynix ram.

PeteC22 My laptop is HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx and
And it has 16 GB of RAM, but I wanted to replace one 8 GB chip with 16 GB to have the 24 GB, I checked with each RAM memory slot and nothing, the laptop turned on but when showing the user account it showed black pixels and the screen turned off and I bought the RAM memory as needed i.e. DDR4 2400 MHz
I do not know, maybe it is impossible to have 24 GB of RAM or this laptop can have a maximum of 16 GB but nothing in the description said how much it can have at the most
I have SoDimm DDR4 memory but i do not know how to check this better
