My laptop only runs on AC power. When I take out the charge, it immediately turns off.
I bought it a little over 2 years ago and constantly kept the laptop on charge, as it was extremely lacking in its charge (the laptop kept charging for about 1 hour, not more).
What should I do?. Help me

That is the DC port where you connect the charger. I am talking about the connector inside the computer. As informed earlier, we have exhausted all the troubleshooting steps. You need to get the computer checked locally as this is a hardware issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is turning off as soon as you disconnect the charger.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it resolves the issue.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97071.exe
If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Help! I just had a new battery installed. It worked fine but the battery meter showed 58% and it stayed there whether charging or not. I re-installed the battery meter device software - no help. I loaded the latest BIOS but then the battery meter showed 255%. I re-loaded the old BIOS but now it still shows 255%. It will only work on AC. When starting it thinks the battery is no good. Interestingly, 255 would be all 8 bits on in a 1 byte field. If that field was then treated as a signed integer it would be a negative number and thus maybe confusing the system that the battery was bad. It should be a new HP battery. Suggestions? Thank you so much!!! Nick.

I recommend you try using a different charger and check.
If the issue persists, then I recommend you contact support as it might be a battery connector issue.
Here is how you can get in touch with support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Cheers!
