The Camera on my laptop is not working. Whenever I start Camera app, the little light besides the camera switches on, but on the screen I don't get to see anything. The screen remains blank (black). It shows the error code: 0xA00F4292 The Camera doesn't work on video calls either, the above mentioned thing happens.

I understand that you are getting 0xA00F4292 error.

 

Please perform the below steps and check.

 

1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager. 

2) Expand the Imaging Devices. 

3) Right-click on the HP Webcam and select Uninstall. 

4) Confirm the uninstallation. 

5) Restart the computer to reinstall the Webcam driver. 

 

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

 

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
