HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0015no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to get my laptop to charge via the usb-c connector, but I can't get it to work. The laptop is a HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0015no.

The specs says it has USB power delivery (1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)).

Do I need to activate it or something?

65w would be best and yes is very likely to work. Nothing lower then a 45w will likely charge it. And so do not run the laptop on anything lower than a 65w but you could use a lower watt to charge the battery when the laptop is off if it works.

What are you using for a usb-C adapter? Did the laptop come with a usb-C or a barrel style adapter?

The laptop did not come with any, but I tried usb-c cables originaly made for a tablet charging. I tried reading up on it and it seemed like I could use pretty much any cable, can I?

Do you know its wattage ? You need 65W charger. You did not reply @Huffer question

Not really, I tested a dozen of USB-C cables on my Samsung tablets, smartphones, Bose headphones, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony photo/video cameras and GoPro 7 Black. Not all of them work on all devices, specially when connect them to my computers including HP machines.

Oh okay. I think the charger is around 22w, so that might be too low then.

Should it work if I get a charger with 65w then?

Thanks for the replies by the way! This is not my area of expertise and I really appreciate the answers
