HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 (508S1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

If keyboard shortcuts to move a window between monitors (Windows + Shift + Left/Right Arrow) are not working after installing a specific update, here are some steps to help resolve the problem:

Check Keyboard Shortcuts Settings:

  • Ensure that the keyboard shortcuts are enabled in the system settings.
  • Go to Settings > System > Multitasking and confirm that "Snap windows" is turned on.

Rollback the Update:

  • If the issue started after a specific update, consider rolling back the update to see if the hotkeys work again.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history. Select "Uninstall updates" and find the specific update (HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.78.4195.0) to uninstall it.

Reinstall HP Hotkey Support:

  • Reinstall the HP Hotkey Support software, which can often resolve issues with hotkeys.
  • Visit the HP support website for your specific device model and download the latest HP Hotkey Support drivers and software.

Check Background Applications:

  • Some background applications can interfere with hotkeys. Try disabling any unnecessary startup applications.
  • Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc, go to the Startup tab, and disable any non-essential applications.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:

  • The problem might also be related to the keyboard drivers.
  • Go to Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting it from the menu. Expand Keyboards, right-click your keyboard driver, and select Update driver. If updating does not work, try uninstalling the driver and restart your computer. It should reinstall automatically.

Hope this helps!

Product: HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2 in 1 PC 16-f1000 (508S1AV)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, after installing HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.78.4195.0, the keyboard shortcut to move a window between the two monitors I have connected Windows+Shift+left or right arrow does not work. I have Windows 11 24H2 updated as well as the Hp drivers. I also checked the integrity of the system files (SFC + DISM) and I got everything correct, and I have not noticed any other issues with the keyboard. How can I fix it? If I have to install the previous drivers, how do I do it? I downloaded the Microsoft Catalog file (41789489-f091-4cc1-8b24-c0f7a5967d70_844c3d47451b548dcbadd17e2cc9f8996b2325dc.cab) but I don't know how to install it.

Thanks for your help.

Hello ZOEY7886
Thank you very much for your help, I did what you indicated in the first point to enable “Adjust windows” in configuration, and my problem was solved.
I don't know how it was deconfigured, because I didn't do it, but the important thing is that it works.
Thank you very much for your help
Best regards
