VICTUS [edited]

VICTUS 16D-1007nia

Hello to all repairmen and technicians.( Google translate)

I did something wrong and I am very sorry.😫😫😞😖

Please help me, my job depends on my laptop.

Here is the story:

About three or four days ago I decided to get a second adapter for my laptop so that I could have one at work and at home.

I bought a slim / flat adapter with exactly the same voltage and amperage as the original adapter, 19.5V and 7.7A, for a relatively low price.

I noticed that this adapter had 20.2V instead of 19.5V and I thought it was okay.

I didn't know that the adapter I bought was a fake.

I used it that day and noticed that the touchpad gets confused🥴  when this fake adapter is connected to the point where it doesn't work anymore.

I messed with the touchpad driver but the touchpad problem didn't get fixed.

I even ran a heavy game for about fifteen or twenty minutes to test the adapter in extreme heat and the laptop's ultimate performance.

I realized that the adapter was fake and sent it back to the seller.

I could even hear the transformer buzzing inside it, as well as a hissing sound when the laptop was under heavy performance. While the original laptop adapter is completely silent.

The disaster begins here :💀😱

Then one day, I noticed that the laptop had a problem with the battery draining extremely quickly after hibernation. To the point that it wouldn't turn on anymore.

When I plugged in the charger, the laptop battery percentage suddenly went from 0% to 100% in a few seconds. And vice versa. The laptop battery without power goes from 100% to 0% in a few seconds and completely shuts down.

Windows always gives the 601 battery error to boot and says that the ambient temperature is too low, while it is not.

I realized that there is something wrong somewhere.

My problem was not solved by updating the drivers, updating the BIOS, calibrating the battery, and finally reinstalling Windows.

And Windows still starts to boot with the 601 battery error and the battery goes from 0 to 100 in a few seconds and vice versa.

I opened the laptop in the off state and measured the battery and found that the battery has no voltage, only in the millivolt range.

But when I connect and disconnect the adapter for two seconds, the battery voltage suddenly returns to its normal 15.4 volts.

I turned off the laptop completely and removed the battery from the laptop.

The battery remains at its 15.4 or 14.3 volts when it is out of the laptop, and when I reconnect it to the motherboard, its voltage does not drop and the laptop does not discharge it, but as soon as I turn on the laptop with only the battery, the battery loses its voltage within a few seconds.

Where is the problem? Is it possible that the more I work with the laptop on battery, the more serious problems will arise ?

Please answer as soon as possible.😭😢😫😫

@Jemi1997, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your HP Victus 16D-1007nia laptop. I understand how stressful this situation is, especially with your job depending on the device. I'll do my best to guide you through it.

Important Notice:

Using a non-genuine or counterfeit power adapter can cause serious internal hardware damage, including to the battery management system, motherboard power circuits, or battery itself. Based on the symptoms you've described, there's a high likelihood that your battery or charging circuitry has been affected.

Recommended Steps:

Battery Replacement

Since you're receiving the 601 error, and your battery:

discharges in seconds,

shows millivolt levels at rest,

and gets reset when power is toggled,

…it’s likely that the battery's internal control board is damaged.

🔋 Please replace the battery only with a genuine HP battery, using the model printed on the original.

System Diagnostics Check

Use HP UEFI Diagnostics:

Turn off the laptop.

Power on and immediately press ESC, then F2 to open HP Diagnostics.

Run Battery and Component Tests.

Record any Failure ID codes.

These will confirm whether the issue is limited to the battery or extends to the motherboard.

⚠️ Warning: Continued Use Risks

Yes, using the laptop on battery right now could cause further damage:

It may damage the motherboard power delivery system further.

You could trigger a thermal or short circuit event if a battery fault escalates.

Even the BIOS or EC firmware can become corrupted from unstable power.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello and good day, have a nice time... Thank you very much for your advice and answer.

Another thing that I highly doubt is an integrated circuit located next to the battery connector called intersil with number 88739B second line W234T7.

I am aware of electronics to the extent that if the problem is completely this AC, I can replace it myself.

I think the fake adapter damaged this AC.

Is it possible that this AC is broken according to HP engineers and technicians?

One request I have from you is how can I find the motherboard diagram and schematic of this laptop to understand the problem more accurately?

Do you know a site or program that provides motherboard schematics for laptops?

Does the HP site provide schematics and routing?

I expect you to provide such specialized advice 🙏
