Hi All,
I have the similar problem with the BCM43142 WiFi adapter on my HP Pavilion 15 ab208ur laptop and Windows 10 is default system. I tried different drivers from HP site and all of them buggy. Unfortunstely there are no native Broadcom drivers at Broadcom site.
The earlier versions of HP drivers has connection speed issues but newer version as BSOD once any torrect acitivity happes.
I failed to find working driver and warranty of my laptop is ending so I decided to replace the Wi-Fi adapter with one based on Intel 3165.
Best Regards,
Alexey.

Try this solution that I found recently that improves my wifi speed right away.
1. Click on your wifi logo on the botton right screen.
2. Click on Network settings.
3. Turn 'On' Random hardware addresses. Don't change anything else.
Close it and check speedtest to see if it improves. Mine seems to help.

I tried Turning 'On' Random hardware addresses and that gave a slower speedtest than the check I made before the change
But I then Turned 'Off' Random hardware addresses and tested again and the speed was then better than the initail check before turning the setting "On"
But after turning On I disconnected and reconnected Wifi and the same again when turning Off
Will have to wait and see if it stays fast - I have had better speed tests in the morning when first using the computer than later in the day - for some reason it slows down
My older Sony computer is not suffering the same problem as my newer HP - different hardware presumably the reason

Hi,
i had a very weak wifi signal and slow connection speed under Win10 with my 17-009ng Notebook and found a solution for me;
go to adapter properties of the Broadcom BCM43142,then to advanced setting, turn the Antenna Diversity from "Aux" to"Main" !
My wifi Signal turned from 1 point to maximum and the speed from to 72 Mbit
Regards
