Hello community
I recently bought a new memory RAM (8GB) for my HP Laptop (15-ef2508la) but is not recognized by the system. When I look over the specifications of my computer, it shows only 4GB memory RAM Instead of the 12GB memory RAM. The new memory RAM (8GB) is DDR4, Speed 3200 MHz, brand Samsung. Also, I installed a program called Speccy which shows me that I have 12288 Mbytes. I would appreciate any advise in this subject. Thank you

The specifications that upgrade memory should have are:
DDR4-3200 • CL=22 • NON-ECC • SODIMM • 260-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8/1Rx8/1Rx16 • PC4-25600
What is all of the information from the sticker on the new memory module?
Have you tried replacing the 4GB module with the 8GB module and then powering on the notebook to see if it boots to Windows login?
Adding a module to the original module often has the result you are seeing.
There are two ways to upgrade memory and have it work successfully.
1. Upgrade with a pair of guaranteed compatible memory
2. Remove the original memory module and replace it with a guaranteed compatible memory module.
