Dear all,
I would like to ask you for your help. I own HP probook 430 g4 with 1TB HDD and want to install SSD disk to second empty slot. I have bought WD SSD PCIe 256 GB- https://www.wdc.com/products/internal-ssd/wd-black-pcie-ssd.html#WDS256G1X0C.
I want to install SSD, and afterwards clone the HDD to this SSD using cloning software. However, when I install SSD, I just can not turn on my laptop. When I uninstall SSD, it is possible to turn the laptop on again. Again, when I install SSD, close the cover - I just can not turn the laptop on at all. Is this SSD compatible with HP probook 430 g4? WHat might be the issue?
Thank you!

Not compatible. The Manual shows that only SATA-3 type M.2 disks will work:
M.2 solid-state drive 256-GB, TLC 905799-001 128-GB, TLC 905800-001
See p. 2:
Primary M.2 storage M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3 Supports the following drives: ● 256 GB ● 128 GB
So rather than the WD Black 2280 M.2 disk you could use the WD Blue which is a SATA-3 variant.
Post back with any more questions but please accept as solution if this is the answer you needed.
