HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC (1A893AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

i bought an almost new HP probook 450 g8, andi found that the fan is always on when the laptop is plugged in to AC power, even when doing nothing with almost 0% resources used, after seconds of unplugging it, the fan stops.

i tried various power settings and modes (cooling policy, power modes, HP power manager, limiting the cpu...) but still with no results.

the noise in itself is not that loud, i'm just wondering if it's normal for this model, and if it'll lead to a shortened life for the fan if left like this.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

(1) Take a deep look at the following detailed instructions from HP:

HP Notebook PCs - Fan is noisy and spins constantly (Windows)

(2) Check HP BIOS Settings -> Configuration -> Fan Always On -> [Enabled] change to [Disabled]

best regards
