Hi! My notebook:
HP ProBook 4740s 17''

Intel Core i5 2450M
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 7500M/7600M

1) Can I buy an 40 pin 17.3'' Full HD matrix and replace internal screen to it in my laptop?

2) Can I buy 40pin 17.3'' an UHD matrix and replace internal screen to it in my laptop?

If not, will the CPU upgrade to i7-3632QM with Intel Graphics 4000 help (for each option)?

Thanks.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. RThe following link shows all options for thr series

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c03353393

  1. For screen: No, you can't only one option
  2. For CPU (processor): The series supports 3rd Generation Intel Quad-Core Core i7, Dual-Core Core i5, and I; 2nd Generation Intel Dual-Core and i3; Intel Celeron . That means you can use i7-3632QM part # 701658-001. Please use the right part and the latest BIOS.

Regards.

As you have already figured out it takes a 40 pin lower left connection. The only panel offered by HP is an HD+ 1600 x 900.

Since HP did not offer a FHD panel it is very hard to know if it will work. Since it is a 40 pin connector odds are the video signal is capable of driving the FHD resolution but HP may have limited it some other way. If it were mine I would likely think it a reasonable gamble.

UHD is not going to happen. Upgrading the Intel HD4000 would make no difference. Its either going to work or not.
