HP ProBook 6465b Notebook PC

Can I replace my ProBook's CPU with a faster one? I have the LY450EA#ABD version of the Probook. If so, which CPU can I use? I have seen on various websites that this should be possible. How it works with the installation and removal, I've already looked at it, apparently it's nothing special. I just need to know which CPU I can use for this. Many thanks and best regards

@Bubsel,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP ProBook 6465b Notebook PC (LY450EA), according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03066699.pdf, specifies that the fastest option for your laptop is the AMD A8-3510MX:

However, when we look here: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/AMD/A8-Series_for_Notebooks/A8-3510MX.html, the Table shows that the best processor (same TDP too) for your laptop would be the AMD A8-3550MX:

However, for the life of me, I could not locate an internet site that sells the 3550MX -including eBay ("No exact matches found"), except for the AMD A8-3530MX: AMD A8-3530MX for sale | eBay, but that seems to me spending a bunch of money for just a tiny CPU boost, to be honest.

Summarizing, unfortunately the idea for a CPU upgrade for an HP ProBook 6465b looks to me like a dead-end, not worth pursuing.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
