HP Pavilion - 15-au627tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Team,

I'm using HP Pavilion - 15-au627tx with Core i7-7th Gen Processor (7500U) . I'd like to know whether my laptop motherboard supports Processor Upgrade, I was looking for the Mother board model in the product documentation and I just see one serial number as Spare ID (901581-601)

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228250

Intel i7-7500U fH+S system board 940MX with 4GB discrete graphics and a Windows operating system ->  901581-601

I'd like to know whether processor upgrade is possible in this model and would be great if someone can tell me how to get the motherboard details. If processor upgrade is possible, what are the available options! I'm thinking for some quad core processors to support my current workload.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi:

The processor and graphics are integral parts of the motherboard, and cannot be upgraded or replaced.

In order to upgrade the processor, the system board would have to be replaced by one with a better processor shown in chapter 6 on page 48 of the manual you posted.
