Hello i have the above laptop HP Laptop 15-d035dx  can i upgrade the processor to a i7 ? i have already upgraded the ram . i use it for DJing at home but i am now getting a HIGH CPU USAGE , i plugged my equipment to my desktop that has ha a i 5 12gb 1tb hdd and it works excellent or do i need a new laptop ?  Thank you

Hi:

 

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard, and cannot be upgraded unless the motherboard is replaced with one listed in your notebook's service manual that has support for a better processor.

 

IMHO, it would not be worth replacing the motherboard as it would probably be pretty expensive to do.

 

You would need to replace the motherboard and then buy a processor and according to the manual, the best processor you can install would be the Intel Core i5 3230M.

I forgot to mention that you would also need to buy a different fan/heatsink assembly.

 

Way too much work.
