 can I upgrade my HP zbook 17g2 core i5 4340m processor to core i7 4910mQ processor

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual.

 

HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 1 has the list of supported processors.

 

You should be able to install the processor to the Intel Core i7-4910MQ, but you will also need to find and purchase the heat sink for the quad core processors found in chapter 3 of the service manual as the heat sink is different for the quad core processors.

 

For use only on computer models equipped with a quad core processor   HP part # 735372-001

 

Also, the notebooks that come with the quad core processors from the factory have different motherboards that support 4 memory chips and yours only has support for two memory chips.
