pavilion 15CS0003ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP Community,

I think I've  bought a fake HP Pavilion laptop. I have just bought an HP pavilion laptop, model # 15-cs0003ca. However, I am not comfortable with the product number descriptions as in a computer setting under about section the Product ID is shown as 00325-96374-06948-AAOEM while at the back of a laptop is written as 4BQ40UA #ABL .Does it mean this is a fake product?

Thanks

Not at all. The product ID you ask about is the Windows product ID by Microsoft and the 4BQxxx number is the HP Product Number which is different than the model number which is 15-cs0003ca. Seems confusing but if somebody wanted to make a counterfeit product I think they would make it harder to detect than just opening up the Windows 10 "about" page. Nothing you have said means it is not a genuine product.

Thank you very much Huffer. Sure! I was confusing the two, the Microsoft ID and the HP Product number. You have saved my life!

By the way, how can I authenticate my product? Is the registration to the Hp products list enough?

Thank you very much for your assistance

If it registers and HP Support Assistant gives you info on the warranty you can be sure it is a genuine HP Product or has been counterfeited so well its just as good.

Glad to here that from you.

Hello,

I  still doubt my laptop. The product number written at the back of a computer is not found on hp website. When I enter the serial number,  different product number shows up which is slightly different from mine. Additionally, the warranty shown on the website shows that the product was sold on April, 2019 while I bought mine a couple of weeks ago.

I am really annoyed
