HP 245 14 inch G9 Notebook PC (52T05AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I'm wondering whether my laptop, the HP 245 G9 R5 5625U, supports a SATA SSD/HDD or not. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to handling computer components, so I must ask for the community's assistance on this matter. I've tried going through the online manual, since I've lost the actual manual that came with the laptop, and went through all the sections that seemed related, but I couldn't get a straight answer out of it. I've also searched throughout the internet but it seems that the laptop isn't really that popular among people as there is little to no discussion about my problem whatsoever, or I'm just not using the right terms. Anyhow, I would like to know if my laptop supports a SATA hard drive. I must also mention that there is a conveniently empty space inside the laptop that would be fit for a hard drive bracket and a port saying "HDD 2.5" if I remembered correctly, though I still want confirmation from the community itself to be sure. And if my laptop does support SATA, I'd be glad to be informed about what type of cable I would need to purchase that would be compatible. It is my first time making a post here so pardon me if I am being overly lengthy with my problem. Any answers would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi:

The answer was deleted because it was a spammer posting links to websites that have nothing to do with the purpose of this forum and posts like that will not be tolerated.

It was also relatively useless because it provided no details.

Below is the link to the service manual:

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, the notebook does have support for 2.5" drives but if your notebook came with a M.2 NVMe SSD, the parts to add a 2.5" drive are not there.

In order to install a 2.5" drive, you will have to find and buy the parts listed in chapter 3, page 17 of the service manual.

(9) Hard drive cable           L23187-001
(10) Hard drive bracket    L24490-001
