Question about the hp omen 16-xf0004nd

Hey, 

I want to get the hp omen 16-xf0004nd with Ryzen 7 7840HS and RTX 4070.

It comes with 512GB M.2 SSD standard. Is it possible to upgrade the SSD and if yes what would be a good choice to do so.

Also same with the RAM.

The 16-xf0xxx model series also have support for two M.2 NVMe SSDs.

A Samsung 990 Pro would be the drive I recommend.

Hey thank you for the advice.

For the cheaper bit, what would you recommend because when i look at crucials compatibility site it doesn't say anything is compatible

One last question, is there a way to upgrade the ssd by still having a warranty?

Off the record, according to chapter 5 of the manual, upgrading memory or the SSD is a customer-authorized procedure, so I would think that you can do the work yourself without voiding the warranty unless you break something in the process.

I do know that if your notebook does need warranty service, you will need to return it to its original hardware configuration before sending it in for any warranty repairs.

In chapter one of the guide the memory upgradeability is understandable but can I pop in a 2tb ssd in it without removing the 512 one, same with a 1tb one. whats the max amount it supports

With NVMe SSD's theoretically, the sky's the limit.

If you look at the Crucial report I posted for the SSD section, they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB in the model series, so you should be able to go to that capacity.

Yes, as I replied in my first response, the 16-xf0xxx model series have support for two M.2 NVMe SSD's so there is an empty M.2 slot to add a second drive.

If you look at chapter 6, page 42 of the service manual, you will see an illustration of the location of where two NVMe SSD's would be located.
