Hello,
I have an HP ZBook 17 G6 base model with only embedded Intel 630 chipset, 32GB RAM and i7-9850 CPU. I have decided to upgrade my ZBook with a GPU, preferably with the RTX series. I understand that I will need replace with a new CPU/GPU heat-sink and add a new GPU fan. Is there anything that I am missing that I will need to add?
Regards

From its manual, you should be able to add one of the following options
Discrete MXM graphics card descriptions and part numbers (page 68):
- AMD Radeon, 4 GB part # L70628-001
- NVIDIA Quadro T1000, 4 GB part # L70629-001
- NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000, 6 GB part # L70630-001
- NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000, 8 GB part # L70631-001
- NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000, 16 GB part # L70632-001
>>> Is there anything that I am missing that I will need to add?
It existing 200W charger should be able to cover new added video card.
Regards.

@Banhien
Thanks for your reply. From your reply, it seems there is nothing else needed, however, I just pulled the middle cover off to reveal that my laptop already has the GPU fan and the N19E heat-sink for use with the RTX MXM boards. So that is some expense that I will not need to add to the cost of the upgrade. But, I am confused about it already having the CPU/GPU heat-sink and GPU fan. Why would the base model come with the N19E heat-sink and a GPU fan? I would assume that the base model would only come with just a CPU heat-sink and CPU fan only. What are your thoughts about that?
