Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my RAM in my HP laptop to 16GB. It is currently at the 8GB that the laptop originally came with. I've been looking at the Hyper X Impact series of RAM and was wondering if those would work with this laptop. I also am wondering where I can find a new battery for this laptop. My current battery seems to be at the last of it's life and has been acting strange. The battery is a TE04XL and doesn't seem to be sold on the HP Spare Parts store. If it is, I can't find it anywhere. It's on Amazon, but I would much rather buy the battery through HP than trust a 3rd party seller on Amazon.

-Thank you.

The specs of your machine is

           https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05468577

1. RAM:  It has 8 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now, you can add same existing RAM to slot 2 or using the following compatible RAM (will run at 2133MHz).

             https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct11053317

You won't get anything out of Hyper X Impact series RAM, it may not work at all.

2. BATTERY:  Your machine uses 4-cell, 63.3 Wh Li-ion part #  905277-855 as shown on the following link

https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=W2N40UA                (please keep or bookmark the link)

    which is N/A. Please use

           https://www.newegg.com/p/16J-00UP-00TZ1

 Regards.

Thanks for the helpful information. Just one last question. Would I need to buy 2 8GB RAM crucial pieces and switch out the current piece of RAM in slot 1 and put the second piece into slot 2 so they're the same or can I just buy 1 crucial RAM and put it into slot 2. Sorry about wording.

-Thank you.

You can buy one piece SAME existing RAM or compatible RAM to save money. Otherwise, buy 2 pieces of Crucial to get full benefit of dual channels (if could not find same 8GB).
