Been trying to hook my phone back up to transfer files. I can't find the Bluetooth icon. I go to device manager, and it has a yellow triangle. I uninstall and it comes back the same way. It is a RAlink bluetooth adapter.

Thanks Bruce

Hi, Bruce:

The Ralink Bluetooth adapter does not work on the newer builds of W10.

You have two options:

Replace the Ralink card with a different model Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter that has full support for W10

Use a USB Bluetooth adapter.

If you let me know how many antenna wires are connected to the Ralink Wi-Fi card, I will recommend a suitable replacement if you want to replace the Ralink Wi-Fi adapter.

Thanks, I will have to open her up and see. I was thinking of getting a new desktop. Watching prices. Though I am not sure just for the Bluetooth in this desktop it would be worth it just to get the Bluetooth to work.  Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade to windows 11 on this.  Maybe I should spend so much on the high-end machines, but i need them for the video. HP does good on gaming, but I don't like their workstation processors and configurations. I wish they allowed you more space to customize like they used to do. Building one, you end up as much especially with NVidia super 1080 cards.   Thanks again. Bruce

You're very welcome, Bruce.

While your PC is not officially supported by Micrsoft to run W11, there are several methods to install W11 on unsupported hardware.

I used the process in this video to update several of my unsupported for W11 PC's to W11 and they work fine.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

I didn't want to invest in a new PC simply for the continued OS support after W10 goes out of support in October of this year.

You'll have to repeat this procedure if and when Microsoft rolls out the new W11 builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.

If things don't work right on W11, you have 10 days to easily go back to W10 as long as you don't delete the W1 upgrade files or the Windows.old folder.
