HP Pavilion 15t-eg300

I am curious about the maximum RAM capacity for my HP Pavilion 15t-eg300 laptop, as I keep finding mixed reviews. Some specifications say 16gb is the max capacity, though I see conflicting reviews from other sources, where some say 32gb and others say 64gb. I have also seen configurations of this same device on other websites with both 32gb and 64gb options. What is the maximum RAM capacity for this device?

No one can tell you that because HP doesn't have a service manual for the 15-eg300 model series.

The only manual they have is for the older 15-eg100 model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

According to chapter 1 of that manual the notebook supports 2 x 8 GB of memory.

The only other suggestions I can offer are these:

Take the Crucial memory company's word for what they say is supported--they say 2 x 32 GB.

Run this report and see what Windows indicates your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The only discussion that popped up that provides any useful information was one I answered last month.

This forum member installed 2 x 16 GB of memory with no problem.
