RAM-Erkennungsproblem mit 2×16 GB Dual-Rank-Modulen

Ich besitze ein HP Laptop 17-cp0257ng (Produkt-ID: A00WBEA, Mainboard-ID: 88C6) mit aktuellem BIOS F.32 (Rev.A) und AMD AGESA CezannePI-FP6 1.0.1.1b.

Laut den offiziellen Spezifikationen unterstützt mein Gerät bis zu 3 GB DDR4-3200 RAM. Ich habe zwei identische 16 GB-Module vom Typ Corsair DDR4-3200 (Dual-Rank, XMP 2.0) installiert. Beide Module funktionieren einzeln fehlerfrei und werden vom BIOS korrekt als 16 GB erkannt. In Kombination jedoch erkennt Windows 11 (sowie das BIOS) nur 16 GB statt 32 GB. Tests mit CPU-Z ergaben, dass das es zwar beide Module meldet, aber vermutlich eine Limitierung bei Dual-Rank-Konfigurationen oder bei Memory-Training auftritt. Auch bei manueller Einstellung reduzierter RAM-Taktfrequenzen (2400 / 2666 MHz), deaktiviertem Gear Down Mode und Command Rate 2T tritt das Problem weiterhin auf. Interessanterweise akzeptiert das System die Kombination aus 16 GB + 8 GB und zeigt 24 GB korrekt an — dies deutet darauf hin, dass *nur* die 2×16 GB-Konfiguration in Verbindung mit dem BIOS limitiert oder fehlerhaft ist.

Daher meine Fragen:
1. Ist dieses Verhalten bekannt oder dokumentiert?
2. Ist für mein Gerät ein BIOS-Update (Beta oder regulär) geplant, das die RAM-Kompatibilität verbessert? 3. Gibt es Empfehlungen seitens HP zu Dual-Rank-Modulen mit 2×16 GB in diesem Modell?
4. Können Sie mir ggf. ein erweitertes BIOS oder eine Konfigurationshilfe zur Verfügung stellen?

Ich bin technikaffin und habe bereits ein vollständiges BIOS-Recovery-Image gesichert. Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn Sie mir bei der Lösung dieses RAM-Kompatibilitätsproblems weiterhelfen könnten. Mit freundlichen Grüßen MarkusKSBG

Please tell us exactly the model Corsair memory you have installed. Max memory should be at least 32 gigs but HP laptops often have compatibility issues with some types of memory modules particularly gaming or performance RAM.

Corsair Vengeance is gaming or performance memory of the kind that does not play nicely with HP laptops.

Then we have a hardware issue. Can you try one of the Timetecs alone or with one of the original modules?

According to your laptop's ProductSheet your system has a Ryzen 5500U installed. Although some sources claim max RAM is 16GB or 32GB, this CPU can go up to 64GB as seen here:   Amazon1   Amazon2   Newegg1   Newegg2   Walmart1   Walmart2   Ebay. If 24GB works correctly I don't see how there's a hardware (motherboard) problem. The 16GB chip works fine in single-channel mode. The Timetec modules you tried were single-rank (1Rx8). Many times HP laptops have problems with it. Are you sure the Corsair RAM is 2Rx8 -they don't publish their modules' chip organization? Or do you confuse rank with channel? I'm not sure (in German).  Anyways, as mentioned above the Vengeance line is more often than not a no-go. You SHOULD choose dual-rank modules, just not gaming ones. From the suggested RAM products, only the Samsung has the ultra-compatible dual-rank architecture. That should work fine. Or you can go for a 2x32GB 3200 kit (from Crucial or anywhere), they're always dual-rank....
