1. Hi, heard about ram burned(failure)  while installing different speeds. what is the actual cause for this / what are the precautions to be taken while using 2 ram speeds in laptop notebook.?

eg : DDR4 8gb 2133Mhz and DDR4 8gb 2400Mhz

2. Currently i have DDR4 8gb 2133Mhz. can you please tell what is the max ram speed supported by the motherboard

@akhil_k19

The memory controller will not run RAM at different speeds; instead, it will run all RAM at the slowest speed of any of the modules -- in this case, 2133.

IF you want to check the RAM speed, then download and install CPU-Z:  https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Hi, @akhil_k19

There should be no issue with running DDR4-2400 memory along with DDR4-2133 memory in your notebook.

The memory can only run as fast as the processor's FSB speed, which in the case of the i7-6500U processor your notebook has, is 2133 MHz.

So even if you had two DDR4-2400 memory modules, they would only run at 2133 Mhz.

The memory modules are designed to safely 'downclock' or 'bridge' to the processor's FSB speed.
