And I believe when you ask about 8 gb hard disk you mean RAM (random access memory) and not hard disk (permanent storage) but we can help with upgrading either type if we know the model number.

Those are your specifications and tell me it is quite an old machine having a first generation Intel Core processor. That tends to mean memory is ugradeable and it will not have an M.2 slot for an SSD but will be confined to 2.5 inch SATA SSDs. But please read the link I gave above and tell me the model so I can find a service manual and the specific physical configuration of the laptop. Thanks.
