HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 (1A3X9AV)

I have upgraded the O/S of my laptop unit from Windows 10-S to Windows 11-22H2 shortly after receiving my unit. But I wish to switch out of S-mode so I can download/install apps that I need for my work. I am aware that running Windows 11 will use up min 4GB.

My question: is my unit upgradable to 16GB RAM / 512GB Memory?  Just to be sure that I won't encounter any issue on performance.

Hi:

Yes, you can install at least 2 x 8 GB of memory in your notebook and yes, you can install at least a 512GB NVMe SSD in your notebook.

HP only has the service manual for the older model series, but even in that series, 2 x 8 GB of memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD was supported.

Your notebook uses DDR4-2666 MHz, memory but you can install an 8 GB DDR4-3200 memory chip in the empty slot, and it should work fine with the existing memory chip HP installed.  The DDR4-3200 memory will automatically bridge to 2666 MHz.

This memory chip would be what I recommend:

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

Recommended NVMe SSD (500 GB):

Amazon.com: SAMSUNG 980 SSD 500GB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280, Internal Solid State Drive, Storage for...

This link provides the instructions for how to switch out of S-Mode.
