Hello,
what voltage, CAS latency and timings do my default 4GB RAM sticks have and is it possible to swap one of them for a 16GB stick with all stats the same?

The difference is very very small. If you plan to eventually get it to 32 gigs then go forward with your current plan.

● 4-GB L10598-855

Latency is CL = 19

1.2 volt 260 pin and yes although the Manual says 16 gb total (2 x eight) is max, it can accept 16 gig modules for a total of 32 gigs. I recommend a pair of matched modules so you are better off with a pair of eights rather than a single 16 gig.

Thanks for an answer, but I have one more question.
Is it possible to swap one of the 4GB's for a 16GB stick with the same speed, voltage and latency and have 1x4GB 1x16GB for a total of 20?

HP Recommended

Yes but as I said not the best arrangement.

Would it perform faster or the same as 2x8GB?
I ask because I want to buy the first 16GB stick now and the second in the future because of the quite high prices of such sticks.
