Hello, recently due to my job tasks and a job of a software developer I came to a conclusion that I need slightly more RAM than just 8GB of originally inserted RAM memory module. So I've already ordered a 16GB of Kingston HyperX Impact 2400MHz DDR4 SODIMM memory module which I had a plan to combine with 8GB already mounted. I've googled several times trying to convice myself I've ordered the right module, but just to be sure I've decided to ask community too. So, what do you guys think?
Very much thanks for all responses!

Hi,
Yes, that should work well. Your notebook supports max 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz
The 2400Mhz will run well, as that is what you have in the system. You could in the future get another 16GB module of the same RAM and that way it will run in dual channel mode and give an extra little boost to the system.
Hope it helps,
David

You're welcome.
To run in dual-channel mode you need two sticks of the same size, so 2x8 or 2x16 and frequencies.
Usually best to buy two sticks of the same RAM.
Now, you have been using 8GB in single-channel mode and now will go to 24GB in single-channel mode. So, it is going to be an upgrade. In gaming dual-channel actually makes really no real difference.
I was taking a look at this article here:

Take care,
David

So far so good. Thanks for all information! Just one more question. Does it matter which RAM memory is first one, etc. should I deatach 8GB originally mounted module and put the 16GB instead of it and 8GB on top? Or it doesnt make big difference?
