Hello,
I have a "HP Pavilion 17-f215dx" and need to upgrade the ram. it came with 6GB when I got it. I need to know how to do it since I can't find a video on youtube for this certain laptop/notebook and I also need to know the max amount I can upgrade the ram too.
I also can't find anything to tell me if there is one or two slots on this thing for ram upgrades.
I'm use to only doing desk to computers as this is my first laptop upgrading.
A link to a video for this pacific laptop/notebook showing how to upgrade the ram would also be much appriciated.
Not all the HP 17 series Laptop/Notebooks are built the same way.
Thank you

6 gigs has to be 2 SO-DIMM modules, a 4 gig and a 2 gig. Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 81. The "good" news is the maximum memory is 16 gigs or 2 x 8 gig modules. The "bad" news is this model is one of the ones that is a bloody mess to upgrade. Requires removal of the motherboard. Sorry I did not design it.

Look about 11:00 into the video to see him remove the motherboard and see the memory slots. It's in German but the subtitles are English.
8 GB memory module for use with HP Pavilion 15 computer models 693374-005
