HP Laptop - 15s-gr0009au

My laptop (HP 15s-gr0009au with AMD Ryzen 3500U processor) came with 8GB of RAM (including 2GB of graphics memory), which means 5.94GB is usable, as shown in the about section of the settings.  I want to know that
1.Can I upgrade my laptop's RAM?
2.If yes , then upto what GB?
3.How many slots of RAM are in there to upgrade?
4.What is max GB RAM supported by each Slot? and What is max GB RAM they support together?
5.And Most Importantly Can I upgrade with this combination -16GB + 8GB(which is preinstalled) ??

Please Answer to this query if You are 100% sure about the information you are giving, I will be so thankful.

Hi:

To answer your questions:

1. Yes, you can upgrade the memory.

2. You can install up to 2 x 16 GB of memory (although chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB).

3. A total of 2 memory slots are available to install memory.

4.  The max memory supported in each slot is 16 GB (although the service manual indicates the max is 8 GB per slot).

5.  Yes, 16 GB + 8 GB will work but the memory will only run in single channel mode.

In order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, you have to install the memory in matching capacities (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 16 GB).

Here is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.  As you can see they indicate that 32 GB of memory is supported.

HP - Compaq | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

You can do this to confirm how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
