Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I feel like my laptop is running slow. I've bought an SSD; Crucial MX series (500 Gig), im about to install it.

Now, im also thinking of upgrading the RAM.

Im currently considering of buying this >>> https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/crucial-8gb-ddr4-2400-sodimm-laptop-ram-12v-cl17-value-ram-ct8g4s...

(I could not really understand some jargons ie Latency etc)
The RAM currently installed in my laptop is as per screen shot below.

Can you advice if it's just ok to buy the RAM im suppose to order above even if the latency is 17 and add it up so I'd have 12G RAM total???
Or is it better to remove the old one and just use the new one.

I just want to know the specs of the RAM i need to buy.

Im not really sure also what page 2 of the user manual says, as per below

ram detail.JPG

BTW i have the AMD A12-9720P 2.7GHz variant

@Strider_003

The specs of your machine is

          https://support.hp.com/lt-en/document/c05829259

which says it uses 4 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now. Are you sure it has DDR4 RAM ?

Regards.

Whoa! I wasn't expecting a reply this fast.
I found that link/detail about my laptop too but i think the RAM detail is incorrect, especially when i used some tools to identify the RAM currently installed.
So i downloaded the maintainance and service guide instead found in this link >>> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493256.pdf

Per the tools I used to identify the RAM currently installed I saw these details

Ok. Did some studying......

So, currently the specs of the RAM installed is as follows
SK HYNIX DDR4 2400 (but its only running at 1866 (933x2) ???)
Latency: 13

Questions:
Is it ok to buy and install adding the new Crucial DDR4 2400 with a latency of 17?
Is it better to remove the old SK HYNIX and just use the new Crucial DDR4 instead???
