RAM Upgrade Compatibility for 11th Gen Intel i3-1115G4 Laptop

I want to upgrade my RAM, but I’m not sure how much my system can actually handle. Right now, I have an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1115G4 @ 3.00GHz with 8GB RAM installed. I checked using command line and also Crucial System Scanner, and both showed my max capacity as 32GB.

But I’ve seen on some websites that this processor can support up to 64GB RAM. That’s why I’m confused.

My question is: how much can I really upgrade on my laptop? I currently have one 8GB stick installed and I’m planning to add another 8GB in the other slot (making it 16GB total). Will my system accept that smoothly, or is there some hidden bottleneck (like capping at 12GB or 16GB)?

I just want to be sure before buying another stick. Any guidance would be super helpful!

Please see chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade information:

Maintenance and Service Guide

HP indicates the maximum memory is 2 x 8 GB.

If the command you ran indicates the notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of memory, that would probably be doable.

2 x 32 GB...Highly unlikely to work.

Your PC will run just fine with another 8 GB memory chip in the available slot.

If you cannot find an 8 GB DDR4-2666 CL19 memory chip, buy an 8 GB DDR4-3200 CL22 memory chip and that will automatically bridge to 2666 MHz.
