Hello,
I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2004AX.I would like to confirm:
- What is the maximum supported RAM capacity for this model?
- Are there any specific recommendations for compatible RAM brands or models?
Additionally, I noticed two options for Crucial RAM upgrades:
- Individual 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM sticks which costs ₹2,685 (If i buy two sticks = total cost ₹5,370) on Crucial's website.
- A 32GB Kit (16GB x 2) available on Amazon for ₹10,996.
Both options seem to have the same specifications, but the individual sticks are cheaper. Is there any performance or compatibility difference between these two options for my laptop?
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on both questions.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Manas

supports 32 GB of ram (x16) of type DDR4-3200 of 1.2 volts CL22.
Do not use memory with XMP profile, the laptop does not have BIOS compatible with these memories and will have frequency issues, about your search and prices, it depends on the sellers, not on the quality of the memory.

Thank you for your response! I appreciate the clarification regarding the specifications and the XMP profile limitations.
If I consider the upgrade from a performance perspective, would there be any noticeable difference between purchasing a 32GB kit (16GB x 2) versus buying two individual 16GB sticks with identical specifications? Does the kit offer any advantage in terms of optimized performance or compatibility compared to the individual modules?

the advantage of two identical memory is that they work better in dual channel, if you buy a 16 GB memory equal to the other is the same as buying a memory kit of 32 GB. If you put a different memory to the other but same frequency you will not lose much because the speed you lose is measured in nanoseconds, and you will not see this if you do not use a specialized software to see these differences.
