Hello fellow HP enthusiasts! 👋

I’m currently rocking an HP laptop with 8 GB of RAM, and I’m looking to boost its performance. Could you please help me find out the maximum RAM capacity my laptop supports and provide some possible RAM configurations?

Here are the specifics of my laptop:

  • Model: HP Pavillion 15 eh-2018AU
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5625U
  • Current RAM: 8 GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM (4 GB + 4 GB)
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home/Ubuntu 22.04
  • Preferred RAM Type: DDR4 3200MHz

Additionally, any tips on optimizing RAM speed or compatibility would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your expertise! 🙌

Please use the following way to find out the amount of RAM it supports

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

From here, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The specs of your machine is

It has 8GB (2 x 4GB) now and supports 64GB max. You can upgrade to

1. 16GB using compatible RAM such as : Crucial 16GB kit

2. 32GB using compatible RAM such as : Crucial 32GB kit

3. 64GB using compatible RAM such as : Crucial 64GB kit

I recently stumbled upon some conflicting information regarding the RAM specifications for my HP Pavilion 15-eh2018AU laptop, and I’d love to get your insights.

According to the official HP support page, my laptop’s maximum memory capacity is listed as 16 GB . However, in a helpful response from our community member banhien, it’s mentioned that the laptop actually supports up to 64 GB of RAM . Quite the difference, right?

So, here are the details for my laptop:

  • Model: HP Pavilion 15-eh2018AU
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5625U
  • Current RAM: 8 GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM (2 x 4 GB)
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home/Ubuntu 22.04
  • Preferred RAM Type: DDR4 3200MHz

Now, I’m a bit puzzled. Should I trust the official documentation’s 16 GB limit, or can I indeed go all the way up to 64 GB? If any of you have firsthand experience with RAM upgrades on this specific model, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.

Thanks a bunch for your help, and let’s unravel this RAM mystery together! 🕵️‍♂️
