Hello,
I would like upgrade RAM for my notebook HP Pavilion - 17- ab401nc. Which type of memory is suitable for this notebook?
(Can I use for example: Crucial SO-DIMM 8 GB DDR4 2666MHz CL 19). Thanx for help.

Hi,
Your notebook supports max 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB
There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module and one empty slot. You can purchase RAM from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung... (the one you mentioned will work)
Example of RAM:

On page 45 of the service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM:

You could also consider upgrading the 128GB M2 SATA3 SSD to a faster and more capacity M2 PCIe NVMe SSD such as the Samsung 970 Evo Plus or similar.
