Hello,
I plan to upgrade my laptop RAM to 12GB, which means I will keep the 4GB RAM and add another 8GB RAM to the 2nd slot.
However, I'm still confused of the CAS latency. What is the CAS latency of the default RAMs in my laptop?
Which types of RAM I should go for if I want to upgrade them to higher?
I look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Thanks!

Hi:
According to the specs for your notebook, there should be two DDR4-2400 memory chips installed.
https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c05982979
Those have a CAS Latency of 17.
The fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at would be 2400 MHz.
If you were to install an 8 GB DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip, while it has a CAS Latency of 19, it will automatically bridge to both 2400 MHz and CL 17 to match the speed of the original memory module and the max 2400 MHz FSB speed of the processor.
You should still be able to get DDR4-2400 memory modules, but if not, it is not a problem.
