Hi there,

 

I know the Ryzen processors make good use of memory so I am looking to upgrade the 2 x 4GB 2666mhz RAM in my Pavillion Gaming 15-ec000na to something better, preferably some Hyper X Impact DDR4 HX432S20IB2k2/16 Memory 3200Mhz CL20 SODIMM 16GB (2x8GB).  I have searched high and low but canNOT find the specs of my 86D4 96.42 mainboard to check what the fastest speed I can put in there is!  Will it make the most use of this memory?  It seems to be the sweetspot for upgrading memory in terms of amount and speed.

 

Please help!

@Sophie_T Here's all you need to know about upgrades:

 

Disclaimer: I must let you know that HP does not recommend upgrades or hardware changes as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance by design, that said, the upgradeable parts listed by HP articles are purely for your ease, as the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion.

 

Check out the image below for details on parts tested and approved by HP to work on your device, also use the above link for keyword search to find the parts you need, along with its part numbers

 

  • Memory modules (DDR4-2666) - part number:
    • 8 GB - 937236-855
    • 4 GB - L10598-855

 

you may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.
