Pavilion 17 p/n G6Q73UA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone

I have the Pavilion 17 17-f053ca with 6G of installed factory memory. I would like to know if it can be expanded to 16G. Also what speed memory can I install. The Crucial and Kingston sites do not list this particular model

I haven't opened it yet but I suspect it is the type that has to be almost completely dissassembled.

Many thanks.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your model.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04402649

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on page 2.

Your model would use DDR3L-1600 memory (PC3L-12800).  The L stands for low voltage (1.35V).

The specs state 8 + 4 for a total of 12, but that cannot be correct.

Your model's processor and chipset can handle 16 GB (8 + 8).
