need to upgrade RAM, original RAM is 4gb DDR4 2400 can i upgrade with 16gb ddr4 3200

According to your service manual (on page 2), your Ryzen processor-based model supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-2400 memory.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

 

16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-3200 memory will work but run at 2400.

According to your service manual (on page 2), your Ryzen processor-based model supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-2400 memory.

Thank you for the info , but please advice since original RAM is of 2400 can i add another 4gb but of 2666. Or should it be of the same speed. Thanks for the advice in advance.

DDR4-2666 or 3200 memory will run at 2400, as that is the max frequency your Ryzen 3 3200U processor runs the memory at.
