Current Specification:
4 Gb RAM, i5, 500 GB HD. Want to to updrade RAM to 8 GB. Please suggest which RAm should I buy?

Can I use RAM from other companies as well ?
Any online option preferred.

HP doesn't make memory so you have to use memory made by a company other than HP.

 

It uses DDR3L-1600 laptop memory. It can take 2 x 8 gig modules but to get the 8 you just need another 4 gig.

 

691740-005 is the HP Part No. for the 4 gig module

Above is a link to buy it from amazon.com. You remove the bottom cover (flip it over) to access the memory slots.
