Can you recommend a RAM which is compatible with my Laptop.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

You can add an 8 GB memory module to the 4 GB module and have 12 GB, but I recommend that you don't leave it that way.

Someday, get another 8 GB module and replace the 4 GB module with it.

When you install memory in mismatched capacities, the memory only runs in the lower performing single data rate (SDR) mode.

When you install memory in matched capacities, it runs in the better performing dual data rate (DDR) mode.

Right now your notebook's memory is running the memory in the SDR mode because the second memory slot is empty.

You're very welcome.

That is the right memory, but I don't know how it works if you take it to an authorized HP service center...whether you can bring them the memory, or they use their own, and charge you for the memory.

You can also do the work yourself, but it is pretty difficult to take the notebook apart, and you would void the warranty if you broke anything in the process of installing the memory.
