can i upgrade to 16gb ram
it now has 4 GB ram plus 16 GB Optane Memory

Effectively, if you want to use the memory module of your computer in your wife's computer you can do it.

Hello,

Your computer, supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:

  • 16384 MB (8192 MB×2)
  • 12288 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096 MB×1)
  • 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096×2)
  • 4096 MB (4096 MB×1 or 2048×2)

Les module mémoire compatible avec votre ordinateur sont les suivants:

  • Memory module, 8 GB ; Spare part number: 862398-855.
  • Memory module, 4 GB ; Spare part number: 862397-855.

The procedure for replacing memory modules can be found in the HP manual on pages 43 and 44..

thanks for the quick response and information just one more can i use the 4 GB ram out of my HP 15-da0057na and double the wife's 4gb HP 15-db0997na to 8 GB ram these are both new laptops

thanks it will solve all, and leave me with one ram slot free for further upgrade to 32 bit ram if that's possible, i don't think it will be needed.
