Yes, you can upgrade the memory.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade information.

Just for clarification, the guide says 'Two SODIMM slots supporting up to 16 GB of RAM.' Does that mean each slot supports 16 GB of RAM, or is the total 16 GB combined, like 8 GB per slot?

Hi:

If your notebook has one of the processors that indicate that there are two memory slots, the manual is indicating that each slot supports an 8 GB memory chip for a total of 16 GB (8 GB x 2).

If you were wanting to install more memory than that, you can run this command to see if that would be possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
