I am planning to upgrade the RAM of my HP-15-cb-054tx laptop from 8 GB to 16 GB.
I have decided to replace my current Samsung M471A1K43BB1-CRC 8 GB DDR4-2400 CL-17 RAM (As per Speccy) with two Crucial CT8G4SFS824A 8GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL-17 SODIMM RAM, effectively making up a total of 16 GB.
Just wanted inputs if replacing stock RAM with 2 Crucial RAMs is the right choice

If you mix the memory (Crucial 8 GB + stock 4 GB), the memory doesn't run in the dual channel mode.
The memory runs best in the dual channel mode (two modules of the same capacity). So, the installation of two Crucial modules is the best choice.
But you can run the mixed memory (8 + 4 GB) if you wish.
You don't need to choose the same manufacturer for a new memory. The Crucial memory you linked is the best possible choice.

Your service manual (on page 1) states your model supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-2400 memory.
The Crucial memory you linked should work.

Hi thanks for your reply.
Should I add just a single crucial ram along with my stock ram, or complete swap out the stock with the crucial kit?
I don't know whether the additional ram needs to be from the same manufacturer for it to work effectively with my laptop?
